The clock you see below has dials in the fashion of a regulator, but is in fact a strike repeater.
It's regulated by a pendulum that beats half seconds, although I do have a model fitted with a balance escapement, which is a little more true to form.
As you'll note, the top right hand pillar has been removed in order to give you a better view of the gears and pinions. It strikes the hours and half hours on a bell, which may be seen on the back of the movement, and by moving the repeat lever to the right will repeat the previous hour. This lever may be seen just to the left of the left hand pillar.
The dials are purely functional. Any model made for a customer would have dials manufactured by a highly skilled professional.
The cost of such a clock would be in the region of $9,000.00, but of course would depend on customer requirements.
Like all the other clocks shown on this site, this one has seen its share of service!
